Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 02 Days

The Short Inca Trail 2 days is a short version of the famous Classic Inca Trail 4 days, in addition to being a great option for those who do not have much time and also for those whose physical condition and age do not help in a longer walk and who do not want to miss a unique experience.

For this trip we will use the train as transport, it is the only option for KM 104 and we will walk towards the archaeological complex of Wiñayhuayna, and soon we will go to Inti Punku (Puerta del Sol called) at 2,650 meters above sea level, where we can see a sunset. stunning sunsets and then continue to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a hotel.

In the morning we will leave for the citadel of Machu Picchu, where we will enjoy the sunrise in this fantastic place before the arrival of people who come by train.

We are going to take our time to get all the information about Machu Picchu, with our guide (approx. 2 ½ hours) through the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the 3 windows, the solar clock, the Temple of the Condor and the botanical garden and more. Then you will have free time to walk around the outskirts of «Machu Picchu» or climb Wayna Picchu, where you can see the entire citadel of Machu Picchu, with its valleys and mountains that surround the entire lost citadel

ITINERARY

DAY 1: CUSCO – WIÑAYWAYNA – AGUAS CALIENTES

We will be passing by the hotel approx. at 6:00 am. and we go to the Poroy station or the Ollantaytambo train station, according to the availability of space on the train, which will transport us to Km. 104 where we begin our walk in a subtropical forest landscape we will visit the archaeological group of Chachabamba (2150 masl) and around 3 hours of walking we will arrive at Wiñaywayna impressive complex formed by an agricultural center with numerous terraces, a religious sector and an urban sector, then we will go up to Intipunku, «Puerta del Sol» during the course 1 hour walk along a flat stone path and a panoramic view of the mountains, the point where we can enjoy the first view of the majestic «Machu Picchu» and Inti Punku, and then descend to «Machu Picchu» will be to Aguas Calientes to spend the night.

Duration of the walk is approximately 6-7 hours, in previously selected accommodation, enjoying the rest of the day to enjoy the thermal baths of Aguas Calientes.

DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Very early in the morning we will leave the road to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in order to observe the sunrise and sunrise in this magical place before other tourists arrive at Machupicchu, of course it is for those who want to go and enjoy a little more of Machu Picchu,

We will enjoy the tranquility of the lost Inca citadel on a tour with our guide (approx. 2 ½ hours) through the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the three windows, the solar clock, the Temple of the Condor and the botanical garden and more, then you will have free time to walk around the outskirts of «Machu Picchu» or go up to Huaynapicchu, where you can see the entire citadel of Machu Picchu, with valleys and mountains that surround the entire city and also visit the Temple of the Moon and the famous Inca Bridge.
The descent in the afternoon to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will take the train back to Poroy or Ollantaytambo and from there we will have a bus that will transfer us to the city of Cusco.
